Looked up Echelon, stumbled upon a paper describing how it's being misused. Sad and scary.

I am bloody sick to death of my piece of shit graphics card that cannot even run nfs underground 2... >_<' So i have taken it upon myself to buy a new one. Now. The only problem is. I have no bloody clue on how do I go about buying one. and so I went to my friend google. Apparently, we need to make sure that the graphics card is compatible with the motherboard that I have. And so, again I went to google. Now the video card that I have at the moment is an Intel (R) 82865G Graphics controller. and the mother board is a Dell Dimension 1100/B110
Front side bus Properties Type: Intel GTL+ Width:64-bit Real Clock: 133Mhz (QDR) Effective Clock: 533 Mhz Bandwidth: 4267MB/s
Memory Bus Properties Bus Type: Dual DDR SDRAM Bus Width: 128-bit DRAM:FSB Ratio: 5:4 Real Clock: 167 MHz (QDR) Effective Clock: 333MHz Bandwidth: Trial Version
Chipset Bus Properties Bus Type: Intel Hub Interface Bus Width: 8-bit Real Clock: 67 MHz (QDR) Effective Clock: 267 MHz Bandwidth: 267 MB/s
Now NOTE. I have no idea what the hell this means. The only way I got this information was thanks to google telling me to download an Everest Ultimate Edition (trial version) and went to the motherboard section. So hope this helps. Now please tell me what kind of a video card is compatible with my computer before I go insane!

Unfortunately, the Dell Dimension 1100, to my best knowledge, has the Intel 865 GV chipset motherboard, which doesn't have an expansion slot for an external AGP graphics accelerator card. I'm afraid you are stuck with the same onobard chipset.
The best idea would be to uprgade the whole CPU, MoBo, RAM and buy a new graphics card. I'd recommend an MSI MoBo with the Intel P45 chipset coupled to an Intel Quad Core (or Core2Duo if your budget is tight) and a good 3 GB of DDR3 RAM. Throw in an nVidia 9600GT graphics card and you're set to run every game there is at very high settings.

What about the Nvidia GeForce FX5500 256M AGP Graphic Card?
I heard the Dell 1100 only has PCI slots and that is what the FX5500 uses...

It'd be a waste of money as PCI cards cannot handle old or new games at sufficient framerates. Save up and upgrade your PC properly.
